How Chargeable Weight is Calculated

International airlines and shipping carriers charge by whichever is greater: Actual Scale Weight or Volumetric (Dimensional) Weight.

Standard Formula:

Volumetric Weight (KG) = (Length × Width × Height in CM) ÷ 5,000

Example: A lightweight jacket in a large 40cm × 30cm × 20cm box has a dimensional weight of (40 × 30 × 20) / 5000 = 4.8 KG. If its actual weight is only 1.2 KG, carriers charge for 4.8 KG.

GoXpi Smart Repackaging Guarantee:
